About Live Life Her Challenge
The Live Like Her Challenge is an initiative raising awareness and vital funds to support women over 55 who are experiencing, or are at risk of, homelessness.
Taking place in September 2026, the challenge invites participants to spend one night sleeping in their car, offering a powerful glimpse into the reality faced by many older women in the community. Funds raised support The Forgotten Women and its mission to provide safe, suitable housing for women in need.
More than 1,000 women over 55 across Greater Brisbane, and an estimated 200 women on the Gold Coast, are facing housing insecurity. Often described as the hidden homeless, many are living in cars, couch surfing or navigating other unsafe and unstable living situations.
Through awareness, fundraising and community participation, the Live Like Her Challenge is helping shine a light on an often unseen issue and create meaningful change for older women facing homelessness.
