Safety a key focus of new Ford Kuga

January 2012

Ford Kuga coming soon

Ford's latest compact SUV - the Ford Kuga, will have a strong focus on safety when it arrives on Australian stores in late March. The Ford Kuga has been designed to complement the Ford Territory and Ford Escape.

The Ford TE Kuga has already experienced overwhelming international success and offers a range of safety features for both on and off road travel.

Front, side front and side curtain airbags are included as standard and aim to help reduce head injuries in the event of a side impact crash - according to TAC Victoria, these types of collisions account for more than 20 per cent of all major accident types.

The Ford TE Kuga also features ABS with electronic brake distribution to assist drivers performing an emergency stop safely, as well as traction control for smooth acceleration even on slippery surfaces.

Stability is further increased by the Ford Kuga's Anti-Rollover Mitigation technology, a system that minimises the possibility of the car rolling over by reducing the engine torque to zero when the front wheels are braking.

Available in two varieties - the Ford Kuga Trend and the Ford Kuga Titanium - the compact SUV will be produced in eight exterior colours, with the price to be announced next month.
